Our AP Literature students recently completed their culminating Q3 presentations, showcasing months of independent reading and analysis through an extraordinary range of literary works from across the world.
Several students took on especially ambitious texts, including Williah Knowles’ reading of Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy and Josef Rupp’s exploration of the Chinese classic Journey to the West—both monumental works known for their length, complexity, and lasting literary influence. Other students explored powerful texts from different countries, cultures, and even speculative realms, such as No Longer Human by Japanese author Osamu Dazai, The Shadow of the Wind by Spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and Midnight Robber by Caribbean author Nalo Hopkinson. Students also examined classics such as Animal Farm, The Old Man and the Sea, and “The Yellow Wallpaper.” Through their presentations, students analyzed themes of morality, identity, corruption, grief, isolation, power, and the human condition while developing university-level speaking and analytical skills. Well done!

๐ Senior Spotlight: Jordyn Lee-Knowles
We are proud to highlight Jordyn Lee-Knowles, a valued member of the Tambearly community whose leadership, service, and creativity have left a lasting impact. As Head Girl for the 2025–2026 academic year, Jordyn has led with grace and dedication while also serving as a Grade 1 mentor, where her patience and encouragement have made her a positive role model for younger students.
One of Jordyn’s lasting contributions to Tambearly was helping launch the senior jacket initiative for the Class of 2026, helping to establish what we hope will become a cherished Tambearly tradition. An accomplished athlete who has competed in soccer at the high school level, she is also a talented writer and published author of her own book of poetry.
Following graduation, Jordyn will take a gap year before pursuing studies in Environmental Science or Ecology. Her goal is to deepen her understanding of our planet and use that knowledge to make a positive difference in the world. We are so proud of Jordyn and look forward to all she will accomplish.

Our high school students recently welcomed Dr. Krista Sherman from the Perry Institute for Marine Science for a special screening of Seafood Nation, a timely documentary exploring the future of Bahamian fisheries and marine conservation.
Through the film and discussion that followed, students learned about the importance of sustainable fishing practices, the impact of overfishing on marine ecosystems, and the role Bahamians play in protecting one of our country’s most valuable natural resources. Dr. Sherman challenged students to think critically about how everyday choices can help preserve our oceans for future generations.
We are grateful to Dr. Sherman and the Perry Institute for Marine Science for sharing their expertise and inspiring our students to become informed stewards of the environment.

It snowed in The Bahamas… and we have proof โ๏ธ Day 3 of Literacy Week brought a little magic to Tambearly as meteorologist Brian Shields, better known as Mr. Weatherman on YouTube, visited our campus! After reading his book Stormy Day Pals, our students got a hands-on (and very chilly!) surprise… SNOW! โ๏ธ Our students experienced weather in a way they’ll never forget.

Our high school students took a moment to slow down and connect with the power of reading during “Stop, Drop, and Read” for Literacy Week. Books were opened and distractions set aside as students immersed themselves in stories.

At Tambearly International School, Literacy Week is in full swing! Today, students participated in our “Stop, Drop, and Read” activity. With excitement in the air, they grabbed their favorite books, cozy blankets, and headed outside to the lawn. Under the cool shade of a tree, they settled in and got lost in their stories.
Congratulations to Aimee Smith (Grade 8) for her outstanding work completing the (๐+๐)^3 cube expansion activity with impressive efficiency—finishing approximately 74% faster than the average completion time. Our high school students continue to explore algebra through creative, hands-on approaches, blending mathematics with art, geometry, and spatial reasoning to deepen their understanding.
