Today Tambearly International School celebrated Commonwealth Day with a wonderful showcase of the cultures, histories, and traditions of Commonwealth nations. Students presented the countries they have been studying through poetry, music, dance, and creative presentations that reflected thoughtful research and collaboration. We extend our sincere thanks to the many parents who helped students prepare dishes, costumes, and displays for their booths—your support helped make the celebration especially meaningful. It was a beautiful reminder of the global community our students are part of.

Learning beyond the classroom 🧠🌿
Grades 2–7 visited Born Again Naturals for a soap-making experience through their Lather & Learn School Workshop, where students explored creativity, science, and sustainability.

⚡🔬 Hands-On Learning in Physical Science! 🔬⚡
Our Grade 10 students put theory into practice as they explored series and parallel circuits in Physical Science class. Through collaboration, problem-solving, and careful observation, students successfully constructed their own circuits while investigating current flow, voltage distribution, and the impact of resistance.
This engaging lab experience allowed students to deepen their understanding of electrical concepts, strengthen critical thinking skills, and build confidence in applying scientific knowledge in real-world contexts. We are proud of their teamwork, curiosity, and persistence throughout the activity!

Special Assembly – Celebrating 40 Years of Excellence at Tambearly International School
On Monday, February 2, 2026, Tambearly International School was honoured to welcome officials from the Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training (MOETVT), led by the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin, Minister of Education and Technical and Vocational Training, along with Permanent Secretary Lorraine Armbrister and Education Director Dominique McCartney-Russell, to a special assembly at our Sandyport campus.
The visit formed part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations and was a meaningful moment for our students, teachers, parents, and staff.
Our Tambearly High School Pop Band ‘BaHarmony’ and Dance Team ‘The Vibe Tribe’ proudly showcased their talents, earning high praise from Minister Hanna-Martin and other distinguished guests. We were also thrilled to celebrate sixth-grade student Kayden Chong, who was officially named Tambearly’s nominee for the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year.
In her address, Minister Hanna-Martin thanked our teachers and staff for their dedication to nurturing students and empowering them to make their mark on the world.
We extend our sincere thanks to MOETVT for celebrating this special milestone with us. Here’s to 40 years of excellence and many more to come.

100 days smarter! Second grade celebrated 100 days of school. Students engaged in counting 100 of their favorite cereal, number hunt making 100, dressing and sharing what they would love to be doing when they are 100 years old. The students had a wonderful time celebrating!
Our high school students and teachers are in full review mode as we head into midyear exams. Focused minds, last-minute questions, and plenty of encouragement as exams run Tuesday, Feb 10 – Thursday, Feb 12. You’ve got this! 💪📚

Pre-K students are actively engaged in a fun hands-on science experiment as they create space mud, exploring textures and materials through sensory play.
Grade 4 took a fascinating journey through the digestive system! Using play dough, colored pencils, markers, and crayons, they created models to represent the different parts of the system and explored how food travels through the body. #digestivesystem#internationalschool#scienceinaction

This week, our fifth grade scientists explored how we breathe! Using bottles and balloons, students modeled the lungs and diaphragm to see how air moves in and out of our bodies. Learning by doing makes science come alive! 🎈 💨 #handsonlearning #respiratorysystem #grade5science #futurescientists
Third grade students enjoyed a hands-on science lesson exploring the parts of an egg. Through investigation, they identified the yolk and membrane and learned where a chick develops.
🏈 Student Spotlight: Samson Wells 🇧🇸✨
We are proud to recognize Tambearly high school student Samson Wells, a dedicated Team Captain in the Bahamas Youth Flag Football League (BYFFL), who recently competed in an international youth flag football tournament in Tampa, Florida (January 15–19, 2026).
Samson proudly represented not only his team, but The Bahamas, as part of the only Bahamian league competing internationally. A standout moment from the tournament included a key interception, showcasing his leadership, focus, and athletic skill on the field.
We are also thrilled to celebrate a historic achievement for Bahamian sport — the Bahamas U16 team claimed the championship title, earning the honour of International Youth Flag Football Champions 2026 🏆🇧🇸.
Congratulations to Samson and the entire BYFFL community on representing our country with pride, determination, and sportsmanship. We are so proud of you!

Grade 1 Math in Action! 💰 Our grade 1 learners are practicing real world math by learning how to pay for items using dimes and pennies. Students are counting by 10s and 1s, making totals and explaining their thinking with confidence.
Learning about money helps build strong math skills and independence- one coin at a time!

💥 Hands-on science in action! Today, our middle schoolers explored digestion from start to finish 🍽️🧬 Using ziplock bags as “mouths,” crackers to represent food entering the mouth (mechanical digestion), and water as saliva, they got to mix it all together to see how digestion begins! Bananas stood in for enzymes, cocoa powder for bile, stockings for the small intestine, and cups for the large intestine. They watched exactly how our bodies break down food! 🌟 Learning science has never been this tasty—or creative! 😄

🌱 Growing the future, one seed at a time! 🌱
Our high school science students are getting hands-on with hydroponics as they assemble and set up a hydroponic system using equipment provided by the school. 🔬💧
They are currently germinating seeds of:
🌶️ Jalapeño pepper
🥒 Persian cucumber
🌶️ Chile chilaca pepper
🍅 Tomatillo
🥒 Armenian cucumber
🌶️ Lemon drop pepper
Once the seeds complete the germination stage, the seedlings are carefully transferred into hydroponic pods, where they will continue to grow and thrive 🌿✨
This project allows students to explore plant biology, sustainable agriculture, and real-world science applications, while developing teamwork, responsibility, and hands-on scientific skills.
📚🔬 Learning by doing, growing by learning.
